What makes
me qualified to do any of this for you?
I have
had 10 years of experience serving as Brandywine High School's Technology Representative
and the past 3 years as the Leader of the BHS Technology Team. In that capacity,
I have done just about everything imaginable.
Let me
put it this way, if it can happen to a computer, it will probably happen in
a high school. Between the heavy workloads, rough treatment, and the likelihood
of accidental file deletion or virus infections, there is nothing I have not
seen.
-
I
have performed hardware diagnostics, repairs and replacements of system
memory, NIC (Internet) cards, video and sound cards, Processors, cabling,
and cooling fans.
-
I
am comfortable configuring the BIOS . That is your computers saved instructions
on how to boot up in the first place.
-
-
I
am familiar with computers from Dell, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Gateway,
Toshiba, and a myriad of generic PC's from local vendors such as CompUSA
.
When
it comes to networking computers, I spent three years being the in house systems
tech for the entire school. I know how huge networks of hundreds of computers
work.
-
I
can set you up so that your computers share all of the information and devices
(such as printers).
-
In
a setting where user data needed to be safeguarded, I learned how to create
password protected and hidden files and folders that can only be accessed
by authorized viewers.
I have
built computers from scratch to the specifications of the buyer, installed all
of their software, and then did all of the troubleshooting to make sure there
were no bugs. They range from a very tame machine for simple word processing
and Internet use, to a screaming fast video editing machine complete with nearly
a terabyte of hard drive space, tons of RAM, internal TV tuner and recorder,
fiber optic video and audio inputs and outputs... in other words, the works.
When it
comes to Audio Visual installation, my experience goes back even farther.
I have
always been an audiophile. I simplly love listening to high quality sound. With
the addition of today's amazing televisions, that passion has been transferred
to Home Theater.
